If you have a discussion forum or discussion topic that you have created, but you would not like it to be visible to learners, follow the steps below. Keep in mind, the discussion forum/topic is hidden from learners until you return and change it back to Visible. Also, a discussion must be visible for the availability dates to take effect.
Hiding / Showing a Discussion
Click on the Discussions Tool in the Navbar, then decide if you want to hide the Forum or the Topic within the forum.
To hide the Forum, navigate to the forum you want hidden and click on the drop down menu next to the title of the discussion forum. In the drop down menu select Hide From Users.
To hide the Topic, navigate to the topic you want hidden and click on the drop down menu next to the title of the discussion topic. In the drop down menu select Hide From Users.
When the page refreshes, you will have an icon showing that the discussion forum or topic cannot be seen.
If you would like to make the discussion Forum visible again, follow these same instructions but instead of seeing Hide from Users in the drop down menu, you will see Make Visible to Users. Select this option and when the page refreshes, the forum will now be visible.
If you would like to make the discussion Topic visible again, follow these same instructions but instead of seeing Hide from Users in the drop down menu, you will see Make Visible to Users. Select this option and when the page refreshes, the topic will now be visible.
