Campus Communicator
Campus Communicator is a custom messaging system, designed by and for SUNY Cortland. It gives students, faculty, and staff the power to select which types of email get delivered directly to their inbox. Senders will be able “tag” their messages with categories to be delivered to the appropriate audiences while recipients can subscribe to the categories to customize their email deliveries. In addition, all email sent campus-wide via Communicator will be combined into a single message delivered at the end of the day, called a digest email. Email sent using Communicator will also be posted in the Home tab of myRedDragon.
By default, recipients are subscribed to all categories of Campus Communicator email. To edit – navigate to the Campus Communicator channel in the Home tab of myRedDragon. Here are a few rules to be aware of:
- You must subscribe to at least five categories.
- Timely notifications, such as campus closing, or UPD announcements, will always go to your inbox.
- NY Alert will always go to your inbox.
If you want to receive all emails sent via Communicator, you do not need to change anything.
The Daily Digest is a daily compilation of all the emails sent via Communicator since the previous digest. You will see a summary of emails sent to all categories, including the ones you are unsubscribed to in the daily digest. The digest is sent daily at approximately 4:30PM.
