Body

TL;DR
Microsoft Teams Calling begins rolling out next week. Campus departments have been grouped into three rollout phases—please review the schedule to see when your department is scheduled to transition. Before your move date, review the Quick Start Guide, request any needed headsets through your department, and contact the Technology Help Center with questions. Your desk phone will continue to work until your department's scheduled switchover date.
What should I do to prepare?
- Find your department’s transition date on our Teams Calling schedule.
- Review the Quick Start Guide KB
- Let your Admin Assistant or Department head know if you need a headset. To help us manage distribution - we are asking that requests for headsets be submitted by department. Request Headsets
If you have a headset/headphones that work with Teams meetings – they should work with Teams calls.
- If you have questions or concerns – please call the Technology Help Center at x2500 or submit a ticket.
Reminder
As we prepare for the transition, you may notice a dial pad appear in the “Calls” section of MS Teams or receive an email about a Microsoft license update. These changes are expected and do not mean you have transitioned to Teams Calling. Your desk phone will continue to function until your department’s switchover date.
What can I expect on the day?
Your phone number will be moved to Teams Calling after business hours on your scheduled transition date. The next day, you can begin making and receiving calls through Microsoft Teams. We encourage you to spend a few minutes becoming familiar with the new calling features using this Getting to Know Teams Calling list.
Support
We will be offering two drop-in support sessions. We encourage you to drop in during one of the sessions if you need help with Teams Calling. If you have af laptop – we ask that you bring it with you.
Support Session #1: Thursday, July 9, 2026, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. in Miller Building 405
Support Session #2: Thursday, July 9, 2026, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. in Cornish 1304
If you cannot make one of these sessions, you can sign up for Teams Calling Training, call the Technology Help Center at x2500, submit a ticket, or drop by the Technology Help Center in the Memorial Library.
Thank you for your patience, flexibility, and partnership as we modernize our campus phone services. We are committed to providing a smooth, well-supported transition and look forward to helping you get the most out of Teams Calling.
