You only need to follow these instructions if you have a desktop PC that stays on campus that you connect to from off campus using software called Remote Desktop.
When working remotely using WARP, a user cannot connect to a campus machine using remote desktop unless they have requested access. In order to request access, you will need the hostname of the computer you are connecting to.
Finding the Computer's Hostname
While on campus, log in to the computer you will be connecting to
hit windows key and r to open the Run box.
in the box type cmd and hit OK

type hostname and hit enter
the command will return the hostname of your machine

Requesting Access
Fill out the Remote Access request form found here
Select the Computer - Remote Desktop option and in the system/computer text field box, type the hostname obtained in the previous step

Submitting the request triggers a workflow that begins with your manager's approval.
Once approved, the system administrators will configure the access
When access is ready, the Technology Help Center will notify you.
Setting Up Remote Desktop Gateway
While off campus, toggle Warp on and then open Remote Desktop
Follow the steps found in this article to configure the Remote Desktop Gateway before connecting.
