Body

TL; DR
The Teams Calling project is proceeding with a gradual transition of Information Resources staff. Training resources are continuing to be developed, campus feedback is actively shaping the rollout, and early adopters can sign up now (limited spots, see more information below). FAQs, feedback channels, and stakeholder conversations will continue as we prepare for a broader campus transition.
Pilot Status
Our Teams Calling pilot continues with a gradual transition of Information Resources staff. Our approach is slow and deliberate to ensure that we’re evaluating and testing features and functions, particularly as we receive feedback from the campus community (stakeholder outreach, below).
Pilot participants and early adopters play a key role in this phase of the project. Their prompt feedback helps us refine system configuration, training materials, and support processes, and strengthens the collegial support network that will be critical during the broader campus transition.
Early Adopters
Are you interested in being an early adopter of Teams Calling? Fill out this sign up form. We will only take approximately fifteen early adopters.
Training and Stakeholder Outreach
Campus Technology Trainer, Julia Morog, is curating and developing learning resources and opportunities including documentation, on-line tutorials, and workshops to help you get comfortable with Teams Calling.
Throughout April, Varya McCaslin-Doyle (Project Manager), Ben Patrick (Director of Networking and Telecommunications) and Shaun Black (Associate Vice President and Chief Information Officer) will continue to conduct feedback sessions with several stakeholder groups. If you would like to meet to talk about the project, please let us know.
March 2026: Campus Conversations
During March, the project team met with campus groups to hear questions and concerns about the transition to Microsoft Teams Calling. Key topics included training and readiness for Admin Assistants, privacy and call recording protections, work/life balance settings, headset availability, and how timelines will be coordinated to avoid busy departmental periods. While a firm rollout schedule is not yet set, pilot and early adopter deployments are underway to ensure a smooth transition for the rest of the campus community. Feedback sessions continue to shape training, FAQs, and next steps. Read more March 2026: Campus Conversations
