Teams - Manage Notifications

Customize Global Channel Notifications

Whenever there is activity in any channel of team that you are an owner or member of you will get a notification in the app but also as a banner at the bottom of your screen.

To customize these notifications:

1. Select the More Option button (three dots) at the top of the Teams window next to your avatar

2. From the menu that opens, choose Settings

3. In the Settings box choose the Notifications tab
   

Customize All Notifications

Choose the Edit button next to the category to customize how you would receive notification for that category

Options will be different for each category but will include

Banner is the notification that will appear at the bottom of your screen

Feed is the notification that will show only in the part of Teams you are editing

Customize All Team and Channel Notifications

To customize team and channel notifications select the Custom button in the Teams and channels section on the Notifications tab:

From the Custom dialog box, you can control notifications for @ mentions, new posts, channel mentions and more.

Customize Notifications for Specific Teams

To customize notifications for only one channel or for all the channels in a specific team:

1. Go to the Teams tab
2. Open the team you would like to change notifications for
3. Hover over a channel and select the three dots (More Options)
4. Choose Channel Notifications > Custom from the menus

5. In the Channel Notifications Settings box change the settings to suit your needs

Customize Notification for Conversations

You can turn off/on notifications for a specific conversation within a team:

1. In the original post of a channel conversation, hover over the top right corner
2. Select the three dots (more options) in the menu that opens
3. Choose Turn On/Off Notifications from the drop-down menu
