Attendance reports in Teams
If you've organized a Teams meeting, you can save a record of who attended it. The report includes the name of each person in the meeting, and the time they joined and left.
Only meeting organizers can download attendance reports.
You'll find the attendance report in the chat tab of your Teams app if you have scheduled the meeting using Outlook or the calendar in your Teams app. The Attendance report will be found on the Chat tab of a team channel if the meeting is held in a specific channel.
There are several ways to access the Chat tab:
Select the Chat tab:
Every scheduled meeting will create an entry in your Chat tab.
- Find the entry in Chat with a purple calendar icon and the name of the meeting.
- A tile labeled Attendance report will pop into the chat about five minutes after your meeting ends.
- Select it to download the report to your device.
- The report will download as a .CSV file that you can open in Excel. The name will be ‘meeting Attendance Report(Meeting Name).csv’. Look for the file in your device's Downloads folder.
From the meeting invite:
You can access the Chat tab from your Calendar
- Open the meeting, and select the arrow in the upper right corner of the meeting to open the editable meeting window
- Select Chat from the tabs list at the top of the page
- Find the entry with the meeting name in the chat tab
- Download the Attendance list
Or
- Open the meeting, and select Chat with Participants
- Find the entry with the meeting name in the chat tab
- Download the Attendance list
Please note:
- Attendance reports are not available for breakout rooms.
- If a channel meeting is in progress and someone starts a second meeting within the same channel conversation, an attendance report will only be available for the second meeting.
- If someone waits in the lobby and doesn't get admitted to the meeting, they won't be included in the report.
