CVH A31B User Guide
Brief Overview
The classroom technology in CVH A31B can be thought of as having two main components: the instructor station/front of the classroom, and the Wolfvision group workstation pods. The Crestron touch panel is used to turn the system in the room on/off, control what is being sent to the projector, and control what is playing out of the room’s speakers.
The room will function like any other tech classroom on campus, for which only the Crestron touch panel is needed for basic classroom operation. The large touch screen is only used to route video sources to the pods or route a pod’s content to the instructor station/projector.
To take advantage of the pods, use the larger touch screen to choose what content is being sent to each pod, which can be independent of what is displayed on the projector. Each pod also has a USB-C cable and wireless connectivity so that someone at each station can send a device’s output to a pod’s display for independent group work. Additionally, a pod’s video feed can be sent to the projector if desired.

Standard Classroom Operation
1. With the system off, the Crestron touch panel will display its home screen – touch the screen to begin operation.

2. Touching the screen will prompt the user to either turn the system on or back out to the home screen. Turning the system on will initiate its warmup sequence, which will show a warmup progress bar on the touch panel, the screen above the whiteboard at the front of the room will descend, the projector will turn on, and the pods will turn on.

3. After warming up, the touch panel will display the source selection screen. From here, the user can choose from multiple video sources that will display on the projector and the instructor station monitor, and the audio for the selected video source will play out of the wall mounted speakers.

Available sources for display include:
PC: the instructor station computer built into the desk
Laptop USB-C: USB-C cable to display an external device such as a laptop
Doc Cam: the document camera on the instructor station desk
Pods: a video feed from one of the pods. When choosing Pods, the user will need to route which pod’s video feed to display using the larger touch screen used for pod operation.
Additional controls available include:
Sceen Up and Screen Down: manually lowers or raises the projector screen
Volume: lowers or raises the volume level of the speakers by pressing the appropriate speaker button on either side of the volume gauge
Video Blank: disables the video displayed on the projector; the instructor station monitor will still be active and showing the current source selected
Pods Blank: disables the video displayed on the pods
Exit: prompts the user to shut the system down
The touch panel also features the current time and date, as well as an auto-shutoff timer: the room will automatically shut the system down after two hours of touch panel inactivity, for which pressing any button on the touch panel will reset the timer.
4. Pressing the Exit button in the lower left corner of the touch panel will prompt the user to either shut the system down or return to the source selection screen. Turning the system off will initiate its shutdown sequence, which will display a shutdown progress bar on the touch panel, the screen above the white board at the front of the room will raise up, the projector will turn off, and the pods will turn off.

Group Workstation Pods Operation:
Content can be sent to and from the Group Workstation Pods, meaning that an input source at the instructor station can be sent out to any or all of the pods, and additionally content from a pod can be routed to the projector.
1. Turning on the classroom system using the Crestron touch panel will turn on the displays for the pods. The home screen for the pods provides instructions for how a device can be connected wirelessly via Windows Miracast, Apple Airplay, or using the Wolfvision vSolution Link software (note: using the Wolfvision vSolution Link software provides the best wireless connectivity with the pods). For the most stable connection, a device can directly connect to the Wolfvision pod using the provided USB-C cable. No additional control at the instructor station is necessary for pods to operate independently.
2. To control the content being sent out to one or more pods, use the large touch screen labeled “Touch Screen for Pod Control Only” on the right-hand side of the desk. Start first by initiating an input source by touching the screen and selecting the yellow “+” button that appears at the bottom middle of the screen. A popup menu will appear showing the available sources, including the Instructor Station PC, Laptop USB-C, and Document Camera (note: the “Laptop” source will not appear unless a device is connected to the provided USB-C cable). Select a source to make it appear on this touch screen; in this example, the Instructor Station PC is selected.

3. After choosing a source, the source routing between the pods and the instructor station will need to be set. To establish the routing, tap the screen and select the half-circle shaped routing button on the left side of the screen (two dots with an arrow running from one to the other). This will bring up a screen showing each of the pods, with the instructor station represented as a highlighted yellow dot at the lower/center location on the screen.

4. To route the instructor station to a pod, simply drag and drop an arrow from the instructor station dot to one or more of the pods. To send the same signal to all of the pods, tap the instructor station dot and select “Share Screen With All Stations”. When a connection is made, an arrow is shown running from the instructor station to the pod(s). After establishing the desired routing, press the back arrow on the right side of the screen to return to the input source screen.

5. To select a different source to send to the pods, tap the image showing on the touch panel to show a utility bar at the bottom and select the yellow “+” button in the lower right corner. Selecting another source will switch the screen to that source and route that signal to any of the pods that are currently connected. The name for this source and any previously selected sources will be listed in the utility bar at the bottom. To switch between sources, press the name of the desired source listed in this utility bar.In this example, the Document Camera is now selected after previously viewing the Instructor Station PC.

6. To route a signal from a pod to the projector, start by bringing up the routing menu, select the instructor station, and choose “Stop Sharing.” Next, tap and drag the connection dot from the desired pod to the yellow instructor station dot, creating a connection line with arrows pointing from the pod to the instructor station. Choose the back arrow on the right side of the screen to return to the source viewing screen to see that pod’s video feed. Finally, on the main Crestron touch panel, select the “Pods” button to display the newly routed pod on the projector.

7. When finished using the station, clear all settings, selections, and routings by touching the screen and pressing the ellipsis “…” button in the lower right corner of the screen. Select the “End Presentation” button, then on the next menu select “New Presentation.”
