The SUNY Cortland Alert System is the comprehensive emergency alert system that allows the university to quickly disseminate an urgent message through multiple communication mediums. This is one component of the university's wide-reaching emergency communication strategy, with the goal of providing a safe and secure environment in which to learn, live and work. If there is a condition which significantly threatens the health and safety of people on campus, university officials will warn the campus community through a variety of notification methods:

Please take a moment to confirm or update your contact information in the SUNY Cortland Emergency Alert System, which provides important updates by text, phone, and email.
This will help make sure you receive updates about campus safety alerts, weather-related delays and closures, or other urgent notifications.
Update your information
Students
- Log into myRedDragon
- Select the Student tab
- Under Emergency Notifications select Update/Edit my emergency numbers
Faculty
- Log in to MyRedDragon
- Select the Faculty/Staff tab

- In the Emergency Notification section select Update/Edit my emergency numbers
- In the SUNY Secure webpage that opens choose SUNY HR Self Service

- Validate your birthdate in the required field
- Select the Phone tab

- To add a phone, click the button in front of the phone you would like to add

- Select Add to add a phone number.

- Enter the phone information in the fields that are open

- Click Add Phone
