Updating WordPress for the Infinity Pro Theme
Some of our WordPress sites use the Infinity Pro Theme. This article explains how to make basic updates to your WordPress site and includes guidance for theme‑specific edits.
Logging Into Your Site
If you know your site URL—for example: https://faculty.cortland.edu/mysite
you can log in by adding /wp-login.php to the end of the address: https://faculty.cortland.edu/mysite/wp-login.php
If this is your first time logging in or you have forgotten your password, use the “Forgot my password” link.
Your username should match your campus UserID (e.g., robert.smith).
Your password is not necessarily the same as your campus (myRedDragon) password. Your WordPress password is managed separately.

Simple Page Edits
The Infinity Pro Theme is used primarily on the Faculty WordPress instance, which uses the “classic editor.” If you are working in a different WordPress installation, you may have the “block editor,” so your screens may differ.
After logging in, you will see a menu with options such as Posts, Pages, Media, Appearance.
Select Pages to view all pages on your site. Each page includes links that allow you to edit it.
When editing a page, you’ll see a simple toolbar for text formatting. Use the Add Media button to insert images or documents. The Toolbar Toggle button expands the toolbar to show additional formatting options.

Adding Media
To add images or documents, go to the Media Library. When uploading images, be sure to include appropriate alt text to meet accessibility requirements.
You can also upload media directly while editing a page or post by selecting the Add Media button.
