On June 10 SUNY Cortland updated the Webex app. The new Webex app is significantly different, now having collaboration features, with chat, teams, and file sharing. It is also a place to access your phone messages.
For instructions on how to update the app please read Upgrading Your Webex App.
The new Webex app looks like this:
On the left side of the app are a series of tabs for Messaging, Teams, Contacts, Calling, Voicemail, Meetings, and Personal Insights:
Messaging tab
The Messaging tab contains Spaces with direct/personal chats as well as team and meeting chats. There are also tabs for file sharing, meeting scheduling and adding additional apps.
Teams tab
The Teams tab provides a landing page to see any Webex teams that you are a part of. By selecting the team, you will see all the Spaces associated with the team.
Contacts tab
The Contacts tab is a place to enter contacts or create contact groups. The Cortland directory and your Outlook contacts are searchable if you want to create Webex contacts or contact groups from them.
Calling tab
We cannot call phones from the calling tab, but there is a ‘Meet’ button available for upcoming meetings and you can join from this tab.
Voicemail tab
The voicemail feature is not presently in use.
Meetings tab
The Meetings tab contains your list of scheduled meetings and the ability to join those meetings, as well as buttons to Start a [Personal Room] Meeting, Join a meeting by entering someone’s personal room name or other meeting information, or Schedule a Meeting.
Personal Insights tab
The Personal Insight tab has tabs for analytics concerning your Connections, Meetings, Work-Life Balance and Focus Time
