COVID Vaccine Recorder - Taking Picture for Upload

If you are planning to upload a document to a website or app there are three basic steps:

  1. Capture the document image,
  2. Save the image somewhere that is accessible, this may be your laptop or desktop computer or your phone,
  3. Find the document and upload it

 

There are different ways to capture a document image, depending on the type of document you have as well as the type of device you have to capture it. In this instance we are trying to take a picture of your COVID vaccine card and upload it to the COVID-19 Vaccine Recorder App.

 

Taking a picture and uploading with the COVID Vaccine Recorder App

If you have a smartphone, the easiest way to document and upload your documentation is using the smartphone app. To do this:

  1. Log in to the COVID Vaccine Recorder app from your phone. This may require you to download Power Apps from Microsoft and to log in to your Cortland account.
  2. Be sure to enter the required information in the app
  3. Select the Attach File button

  1. You will be asked to give the app permission to access and take photos and video, you need to choose Allow for both

  1. Select Take Photo from the options

  1. Your phone’s camera will be activated so you can take a picture of your vaccine card.
  2. You will receive confirmation on the app that the picture has been uploaded.
  3. Click Save & Submit

You can take a picture of your vaccine card with your phone and then use the COVID Vaccine Recorder App to upload the picture.

  1. Take a picture of your vaccine card using the camera app on your smartphone
  2. Log in to the COVID Vaccine Recorder app from your phone. This may require you to download Power Apps from Microsoft and to log in to your Cortland account.

  1. Choose the photo from the Gallery on your phone
  2. You will receive confirmation on the app that the picture has been uploaded.
  3. Click Save & Submit

You can take a picture of your vaccine card with your phone and then use the COVID Vaccine Recorder App on your laptop or desktop to upload the picture.

  1. Take a picture of your vaccine card using the camera app on your smartphone
  2. Send the picture to your Cortland email address or share the picture of the card with your Cortland email
  3. Open your Cortland email and download the photo to your laptop/desktop.
    You can do this by choosing the Download or Save to OneDrive commands from the attachment image at the top of your email

Or you can right click on the picture and choose Save Image As… from the menu

Be sure to remember where you save your file.

  1. Log in to the COVID Vaccine Recorder app from your laptop/desktop. (This may require you to log in to your Cortland account)
  2. Be sure to enter the required information in the app
  3. Select Attach File

This will prompt your File Manager to open

  1. Find the file in the folder where you saved it and select it
  2. Choose the Open button
  3. You will see the name of the file under Attachments
